Who we are
Organization Overview:
Inclusion Ghana is the peak network organization dedicated to the inclusion of Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families in Ghana. We advocate tirelessly for their rights and needs.
Foundation and Affiliations:
Founded in 2009, Inclusion Ghana is a proud member of Inclusion Africa, Inclusion International, and Down Syndrome International. Our operations are managed daily by a dedicated national secretariat located in Accra.
Membership and Influence:
In December 2014, Inclusion Ghana achieved full membership status within the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD). Subsequently, the GFD constitution was amended to allow parents and caregivers to actively represent Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in various GFD bodies and activities.
Representation and Advocacy:
As a well-recognized and active member at the national level, Inclusion Ghana has significant representation within the GFD. This includes two members on the National Executive Committee and one member each on the National Advocacy Committee and the National Communication and Media Committee.
