PSHG Reps, 27 Self-Advocates and 20 IG Member Organization Staff given orientation on Social Interventions Accessible at Project Districts.

An official from the Department of Social Welfare in each of the 12 project districts invited to a gathering of PSHG reps (parents/ caregivers), self-advocates and IG MO reps to give them orientation on social protection interventions that are being implemented in the respective district. The aim of the orientation was to empower the participants to support persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to access the relevant social protection interventions so as to improve on their living standards. The meetings also created direct access to the district social welfare offices for many of the parents/caregivers and were as result motivated to go with their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities to the social welfare offices for support.
